The story behind NelaZo
Some journeys take us away from home. Some bring us back to it.
The name NelaZo was born from that journey.
“Nela” is a Kannada word for land, the ground we grow from, the place our roots belong to. For an NRI, that land can feel very far away. Life takes you to new countries, new cities, new opportunities. You build a life somewhere else, but part of you keeps looking back.
That’s where the “Z” comes in. The “Z” is the journey back: the distance crossed, the miles travelled, the connection that never quite breaks between where you are and where you come from.
Then comes the “O.” A circle. A return. Coming full circle. Because sometimes, after building a life away from home, you find yourself thinking about the same things again: family, roots, a place of your own, a future back home.
That’s where NelaZo comes in. We believe buying or managing property back home shouldn’t mean navigating it alone from thousands of miles away. NelaZo brings together technology, trusted people, and essential services to make that journey simpler, from finding a property to everything that comes after.
Property is only part of the story. Home is the reason behind it. And no matter how far life takes you, there’s always a way back to your Nela.

NelaZo was founded by Shreyas M. Satyanarayana and Manjunath Vishwanath to give NRIs one platform for the whole property purchase: search, verification, legal, tax, and everything after handover, with a real advisor at each step.

Shreyas M. Satyanarayana
An NRI based in the United States, Shreyas experienced firsthand how difficult it is to manage a property purchase back home from abroad: navigating agents, documentation, legalities, loans, and taxes remotely. That frustration became the spark for NelaZo: “Why should buying a home in your own country be so difficult just because you live somewhere else?”

Manjunath Vishwanath
Manjunath studied in Canada before returning to India to build a career in marketing, with a focus on business strategy and customer research. When Shreyas described the problem NRIs face buying property back home, Manjunath saw the gap and helped shape what NelaZo does and how it works.
He sets the strategic direction for NelaZo, shaped by first-hand experience of the gaps NRIs hit with property and services back home, and focused on building the trusted layer the market has been missing.
